I am SUPER excited to meet you! This is my 23rd year of teaching!! During that time I have worked in many different grades (1-8), doing many different things. My major focus throughout has been English language arts and literacy (though I have to admit that I have always loved history)
Though born in Connecticut and a New Englander at heart, I grew up in the wilds of Northern California (no...not San Francisco-we consider that central California) in a small town on the coast. It was a wonderful childhood (aside from all the rain), but when I chose a college, I looked east. I attended Smith College as an undergraduate, and studied theater and education (you'll soon notice my tendency to break into song or enliven a lesson with my acting). While here, I fell in love with the Pioneer Valley. Besides a couple of years living on Cape Cod, I have spent most of my teaching years here in Easthampton. My graduate degrees from Bridgewater State University (Reading) and Endicott College (Organizational Management) round out my education. Throughout it all, I have remained loyal to the district willing to give me my first teaching job-Easthampton. While growing up, I visited many of our country's National Parks and Monuments. These trips instilled in me a great love for our nation's treasures-both natural and man-made. This experiences also made me an avid history buff. Now I dream of visiting Europe (especially Florence and Rome, Italy), read many books (I normally have three going at once) and enjoy spending time with my husband and young daughter. What about you? What are your hobbies? What do you like to do? Have you read any good books lately? Have you been anywhere exciting? |
